P6 and P7: Be prepared for a quiz on Monday which will cover the figurative language terms discussed in class. At this point, you only need to know how to define them. We will continue to practice locating them in poems and applying them to your writing. You can access a copy of the list from the last blog post. Have a great weekend! Friday's quiz has been moved to Monday, Aug. 29. You are expected to know the definitions for the words given below:
P6: Due Monday, Aug. 22 - Complete two additional station activities.
P6: Due Tuesday, Aug. 23 - Complete last page of the poetry walk packet. Your new definitions of what poetry is and is not should be based on the information you gained during the activity. Use specific evidence from the different stations to explain your thoughts. When comparing your final thoughts to your initial definitions, your responses now should reflect new insight and ideas. Once we review them in class, you can create a final copy and add decorations or pics. P7 - Since you did not have as much class time to being your "I Am" poem, your draft of the FIRST STANZA only is due on Monday, Aug. 15. Once we review these in class on Monday, you will complete the poem. |
